2021 First Quarter

Here are the news…

“Mujo”, my first album with Tangerine Dream violin player/member Hoshiko Yamane is out now on Denovali Records. DL, Vinyl and CD.

“Too late to dream” is the new Simm album. It features East London Mc FlowDan vox on four tracks, South African Gqom stars Phelimuncasi vox on one track and Violeta Vicci on violin on two tracks. Petulia Mattioli is taking care of the artwork. It’ll be out on Ohm Resistance on double gatefold vinyl and cd during springtime.

I’ve been asked by the renowned electronics music web portal Attack Magazine to create sound packs for Elektron machines. After my experience with Elektron I took more and more pleasure in designing sounds for these amazing synths. The first sound pack, Refraction, is out now for the Analog Rytm (MKI MKII), the next will be a Digitone one. More to come.

Supervøid is a new quartet with me on baritone guitar, Xabier Iriondo on guitars, Jacopo Pierazzuoli on drums and Jo Quail on cello. “The giant nothing” debut album will be out on Subsound Records next spring.

“Coalescence of Time: other conjectures on future” the New Sigillum S album will be out in various formats on different labels. Dominick Fernow/Vatican Shadow’s Hospital Production is printing it right now a super limited cassette tape edition with Petulia Mattioli‘s cover and a handmade packaging. Vinyl and CD will be out on SubSound records by the end of the year.

The first album in duo with Christopher Chaplin is ready. Title and labels under evaluation right now.

The second Owls album is quite ready. We are still missing some recording sessions but the tracks are there.

Phonolab, my duo with reggae/dub Grammy nominated producer Gaudi is finally complete. We are super happy about the result and working now on future details to release it.

Sigillum S teamed up with the jazz noir combo Macelleria Mobile di Mezzanotte for a 12″ Vinyl only album. Out on SubSound Records in the next months.

Ted Parsons (Swans , Killing Joke, Godflesh and many more) is currently recording drums for the new Metallic Taste Of Blood album.

I’m working on an EP in trio with Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Ork) and amazing producer Adrian Benavides.

2021 will naturally see me working on several adverts, docs, new collabs, the second Blackwood album and much much more.

2019 2nd quarter

Here are the news for this quarter…

Gary Mundy (Ramleh/Kleistwahr) and myself had some great time in the studio creating music for a new duo. Mostly guitar oriented, but with a hint of electronics here and there, its a wall of emotional sounds. We have more than  4 hours of material to condense in less than 45 minutes as we are aiming to a vinyl release.

I recorded one album together with Ken Ikeda, the Japanese master of FM synthesis. We chose to work only with the Elektron Digitone synth in order to use the sole FM synthesis engine. More news to come.

Rotor, my duo with Leon Switch from Kryptic Minds has finally a home. More news to follow as we proceed toward the first single release.

I designed Hidden and Revealed, 2 patches packs, for the Elektron Digitone synth, you can find them here. There’ll be more in the future.

I’m starting to work on a new duo with electronics wonder Nadia Struiwigh, due to come out on Denovali in 2020

The new Sigillum S album will be recorded in July.

Supervøid‘s first album , (me, Xabier Iriondo, Jacopo Pierazzuoli and a fourth member that will be soon announced), will be out in CD on Argonauta Records and in vinyl on Dio Drone.

The soundtrack I scored for “CY DEAR”, the very first documentary on Cy Twombly, is out on RareNoise Records. Cd and Double gatefold vinyl. Packaging by Petulia Mattioli

The new Equations Of Eternity, based on the recording I made in India years ago at the Kumbh Mela, is slowly approaching complexion. It’s been a longer process than what I planned and there’s still a lot of work to do.

Blackwood EP “Of Flies, featuring Stefania Alos Pedretti from OVO and Emilia Moncayo from Minipony, is at the pressing plant. It’ll be vinyl only. Release date TBA.

The album I’ve working on with Gareth Davis is done. Conceived as an imaginary soundtrack for a non existent noir movie it’s a guitar and bass clarinet only opus.

PHONO is the name of the new duo with dub star GAUDI . We have 11 tracks so far and we are really satisfied of the result.

Palaoa, the new project I have with Toshinori Kondo is quickly approaching the finishing stage.

My album with Markus Reuter, Stickmen Touch guitar master, is proceeding. It is a wall of harmonies and clusters.

The duo with KK Null is on its way. We created a good amount of material and …decided to not using it as we were not 100% satisfied, instead we U turned towards a more ambient (well… ambient made by the of us…) vibe.

There’s much much more coming up in the future, including a new band that will be soon announced. Stay tuned.

2018 third quarter

The soundtrack I scored for “CY DEAR”, the very first documentary on Cy Twombly, is ready and mastered. Petulia Mattioli is taking care of the cover and the formats will be: CD and Double gatefold vinyl. It’s going to be the first ever record under my name and the title is from a Cy Twombly poem on one of his paintings: “Like a fire that consumes all before it”

The new Sigillum S album is pressed. It’s the very first one with Bruno Dorella/Ovo/Ronin and much more in full forced as an official member. Release date is September 14th. Pre-orders start tomorrow. CD, tape cassette and vinyl.

The new Equations Of Eternity, based on the recording I made in India 2 years ago at the Kumbh Mela, is approaching complexion. I’m working on the final touches.

Blackwood EP “Of Flies, featuring Stefania Alos Pedretti from OVO and Emilia Moncayo from Minipony, is ready. It’ll be vinyl only. Release date TBA.

The album I’ve working on with Gareth Davis is taking shape. Conceived as an imaginary soundtrack for a non existent noir movie it’ll be a guitar and bass clarinet only opus.

The new duo with dub star GAUDI is rolling. We have 11 tracks so far and we are really satisfied of the result.

Palaoa, the new project I have with Toshinori Kondo is blooming. It’ll take still some time to make it happen but sounds and harmonies are there, not to mention Kondo fantastic trumpet.

I’ve been recording an album (maybe two…considering the amount of material we produced) with Markus Reuter, Stickmen Touch guitar master. Hold on tight as this is a wall of harmonies and clusters.

The duo with KK Null is on its way. We created a good amount of material. It’s blasting, like it’s supposed to be I guess.

There’s much much more coming up in the future. Stay tuned.

2017 2nd quarter

On July 18th I’ll lock myself with one of my favorite artist in a studio and together we decide if it’s worth a collaboration or not. No mercy for our ears and no mercy for ourselves. If it’s working, great. If not, it’ll be a nice day together.

Rotor has a label. One we really like. We are waiting for some female vocals to complete the tracks and then we will be ready to go live too.

End of September will see Sigillum S recording a new studio album. Line up as usual. Me, Paolo Bandera and Bruno Dorella. This will be the first album we record with the above line up.

Supervoid production is reaching completion. There’s a major surprise coming up regarding the line up but we will communicate it once everything is ready.

November will be Eraldo Bernocchi/FM Einheit/Jo Quail trio album on RareNoise Records. We are still trying to understand which kind of music it could be.

January 2018 will see Sigillum S again in a London studio with some legendary artists who are connected to us since the very early days. We suspect this record could be really noisy. Line up will include two guitars, bass, drums and two noise makers.

Around the second half of 2018 the third chapter of Equations Of Eternity will appear. Line up for now myself and Bill Laswell. Subject: dark hindu magick and field recording I recorded last year in india.

Glacial Movements involved me in the production of one incredibly intriguing project. More to come with a big surprise in terms of line up.

Sigillum S will also finally complete the EP with Tony Wakeford we started long time ago.

I’m starting to think about a new Ashes record. Raiz and myself had a talk and we both decided it’s time for another album…11 years passed since the last one.

There’s much more coming up…new duo with one of my favorite dub artist and producer (can’t wait), new duo with another lovely creature who I consider my brother, scoring for adverts, docs, sound design…

A lot of mysteries here but not everything needs to be revealed now.

2017 First Quarter

After relocating to London and letting the dust settle this is what will happen in the future:

Supervoid debut album for my new power trio with Xabier Iriondo (Afterhours, Todo Modo, Bunuel and much more) and Jacopo Pierazzuoli (Obake, Morkobot) is currently in the editing/mixing phase. There’ll be some surprises I can’t reveal , so stay tuned as the album at the moment looks promising.

Sigillum S will record the next studio album with its new member Bruno Dorella from OVO and Ronin in full force. As well we will complete the long time due EP featuring Tony Wakeford from Sol Invictus on vocals.

The debut album for Rotor, my new duo with Leon Switch, is still in production. We have a lot of music to choose from and we are currently evaluating label proposals.

The debut album of the new trio with Jo Quail on cello, FM Einheit on metals and tools and me on guitars is on it’s way. It is expected for the last quarter on RareNoise Records.

In June I’ll celebrate my 100th album…and I do it in a dub tech way on Glacial Movements together with ambient composer Netherworld.

The return of Equations Of Eternity is approaching. Volume 3 will be based on indian black magic and obscure rituals I recorded last year in india. Line up for the moment is Bill Laswell and myself. More details later.

Well…I’m starting to think about a new Ashes album. After 11 years it’s about time to go back to the roots…

I’m not ruling out a new Simm album in the future…kind of a distant one…

Last but not least…I moved my store to Bandcamp.

I spent two weeks in india setting up the soundtrack for well known photographer Bruna Rotunno exhibition “Women in Bali” as well I went to the mighty Kumbh Mela in Ujjain, the biggest religious festival on the world, to records rituals and ceremonies for a forthcoming project in 2018. More to come.

Artwork is also under its way and curated by Petulia Mattioli. Out on RareNoise Rec in October 2016.I’m really happy about the results, I have no idea how to define the music we created and I guess this is a good sign.

Blackwood debut album “As the world rots away” is gathering amazing reviews and theres’ a lot of interest for live gigs featuring also Jacopo Pierazzuoli on live drums. Stay tuned for more.

Obake third album is in the mixing phase. The result of a year of work is quite impressive. Super heavy but at the very same time deeply melancholic and harmonic. I’m curious to see how it’ll be received. Out on RareNoise Rec in November.

The 30 years Sigillum S anniversary trilogy is long gone. We still have CDs and t shirts. the rest is gone, forever.

Owls are slowly putting together pieces for a new album tba.

Supervoid is the name of a new trio I formed with guitar player Xabier Iriondo (Afterhours, Bunuel, Todo Modo and many more) and Jacopo Pierazzuoli on drums. We are aiming for a sort of psychedelic ambient furious doom…we’ll see…recordings and live appearances are due in september.

The album with Chihei Hatakeyama is ready and we are currently evaluating labels as the output is also including a photo book of Petulia Mattioli and Japanese photographer Yasushi Miura.

ERALDO BERNOCCHI /SHINKIRO – IN PRAISE OF SHADOWS

“In Praise Of Shadows” is a 7 years long massive collaboration album by Italy’s legendary producer Eraldo Bernocchi of Sigillum S and Japanese dark ambient mastermind Manabu Hiramoto of Shinkiro.
The music weaves dark electronics and industrial dub with heavy atmosphere. The 8 tracks based on a concept of the traditional Japanese aesthetics inspired by Junichiro Tanizaki’s essay, beautifully contrasted light and shadow,
stillness and motion with using modern technology and various musical compositions. 4-panel cardboard sleeve.
